How can your corporation help?  Volunteer your services by sponsoring a spring or
fall clean-up, participate in Earth Day, tell your employees about our plant sale fund
raiser and
Perennial Partners program.

The Community Gardens Greenhouse is an all-volunteer organization. We have
members who have made long-term commitments to the growth and development of
the greenhouse and seasonal volunteers who work on specific projects during the
growing season.

The greenhouse takes on projects based on staff availability and funding received
through grants and organizing fund raisers.

Growing communities from the ground up!
Corporate Volunteers
In October of 2007, Motorola
employees sponsored a
Global
Service Day. Some volunteers worked
at the
Community Gardens
Greenhouse digging holes, moving
mulch, planting shrubs, moving rocks,
weeding garden plots, pruning trees.
A spring cleanup was sponsored by
Lowell's
Life Alive Café.  The café
signed up and organized volunteers,
working with the greenhouse staff, to
get the
Garden of Big Ideas and
Earthly Delights and the Mary J.
Bacigalupo Victorian Garden
cleared up and prepped for spring
planting.
Mill City Fabricators donated labor
and materials to create iron markers,
supports for the greenhouse heating
system, and footings for a pergola.
Sponsor a spring clean-up
The Community Gardens Greenhouse maintains the greenhouse and Signature
Garden on Aiken Street, as well as the Mary J. Bacigalupo Victorian Garden in
partnership with the
Lowell National Historic Park, and the Garden of Big Ideas and
Earthly Delights in partnership with the Revolving Museum.

We know that each year we will be cleaning up these gardens in preparation for the
growing season. It is at this time that we need the most help.

Earth Day
The Community Gardens Greenhouse sponsors Earth Day at the Community
Gardens Greenhouse. If your company would like to participate in these events,
please
contact us. Employees may want to volunteer their services with workshops,
activities, or tree planting. Or, perhaps your corporation would like to be represented
to educate the general public on recycling or energy/water conservation.

Spring Fling
The annual Spring Fling kicks-off our fund raising activities. The sale is held rain or
shine. We sell plants grown at the greenhouse, as well as perennials donated by our
Perennial Partners. How can you help? Tell your employees about our plant sale by
posting our
flier on your bulletin boards, stop by and buy some plants, maybe get help
with your garden issues.
Spring
Our projects vary from year to year so it isn't easy to predict what's in the queue.
Contact us, perhaps we are looking for additional help in one of our garden projects.
Summer
Sponsor a fall clean-up
Fall clean up is restricted to the Community Gardens Greenhouse Signature Garden
and the greenhouse. By autumn, all the garden projects that we have worked on have
been completed and turned over to their respective stakeholders.  The stakeholders
are neighborhood groups, church groups, or school groups who have accepted
ownership of their garden project.
