Community Gardens Greenhouse - Lowell, MA
How do I contribute?
Send an email, or stop by the greenhouse and tell us what you are interested in doing. You will
be contacted or given more information.
Do I need to provide my own seeds or seedlings?
Yes, at least for this year. We did not secure donations to provide to PAR gardeners as part of
the starter kit, though we may have a limited amount of extra seedlings that need a home.
What is a starter kit?
A starter kit consists of a PAR brochure, row marker, donor receipt that is given to the gardener
that is participating in the Plant a Row campaign. This year we did not have enough time to ask
for seeds to be donated to include with the starter kits. If the greenhouse has extra plants, we
may be able to give them to gardeners to grow so that they can Plant a Row.
Do I have to garden at the greenhouse?
No, you can garden at your home and still participate in PAR.
What do I have to do to garden at the greenhouse?
You will be required to fill out a form so that we know who is working on the property and their respective project. We also need
emergency contact information, or parental permission if under 18.
You will be given a copy of best practices and provided an orientation. For example, you must wear shoes, no opened toed
sandals; tools must be put back in the appropriate area if borrowed; when bathrooms are opened.
It is up to the project manager to work out schedules with volunteers on their respective project. For example, when to water.
