Community Gardens Greenhouse - Lowell, MA
Plant a Row for the Hungry
Gardeners are generous! The Community Gardens Greenhouse volunteers are
reaching out to local home gardeners requesting your participation in this program. We ask
that you plant one row of produce in your garden and donate it to this project. If you are
container gardening on a patio, balcony or porch, please Plant a Row (or pot) and donate. To
encourage donations and get records of donations, PAR is providing donor receipts which
provide you with a tax deduction for your in-kind donation. Contact us for more information.
We are extending an invitation to anyone within the community to work in our Plant a Row
garden as a volunteer. Your volunteer time will be recorded and you will be awarded a
certificate that acknowledges your time and community service. Contact us for more
information.
We invite anyone to create their own Victory Garden at the community garden site. We urge
that the gardener Plant a Row for the Hungry and donate that one row to this PAR program.
Space is limited. Contact us for more information.
Want to participate as a group? Businesses, schools, faith organizations, youth
groups, garden clubs, etc. who have their own gardens, can donate to PAR as an
organization. Businesses can also organize a company-wide PAR campaign. Or, perhaps
your group would like to help us weed, water, harvest, or distribute from our garden. No need
to make long term commitments; a few hours here & there will do. Contact us for more
information.
Got fruit trees? Perhaps you've no garden, but you have fruit trees growing in your yard.
Think of donating some of the fruit. If you need help picking the fruit, contact us, we will try to
find volunteers who can help to pick/gather fruit.
Never glean/gather produce from property without the owner's permission.
Growing communities from the ground up!
