How you can help
A grassroots, people-helping-people campaign open
to anyone of any age.
Watering the garden
Collecting/distributing food
Weighing/recording produce
Taking pictures/videos of progress for our web site and GWA progress reports
Participate in our media campaign by writing/recording PSAs (public service
announcements), or writing media requests
Share your favorite recipes that use fresh produce & herbs
Sharing techniques to winter over locally grown produce: canning, freezing, drying.
Contact local seedsmen, nurseries, garden centers to obtain seeds, seedlings, or
anything else free that seems appropriate
Help promote this project via word of mouth campaigning
Drop off flyers, posters, row markers at drop-off locations
Gleaning/Gathering
Gather produce bit by bit from neighbors orchards or fields. If property appears to be
abandoned, perhaps the owner can be tracked down and asked if the fruit can be gathered
and donated to Plant a Row for the Hungry.  Maybe you notice your neighbors are not using
the fruit from their trees, ask if they would donate to PAR.

Never take produce from a property without the permission of the owner!

Composting
Compost. Black gold to gardeners. We use it throughout our gardens.  Remember to
compost produce scraps, egg shells, tea bags, leaves, etc.
Contact us for more information
if you do not know how or if you are looking for town/city resources.  The Community Gardens
Greenhouse is participating in a pilot
compost project.
