I have  for several years been a volunteer gardener in Lowell and I'm very thankful to
all of the people who had interest and faith in my work to let me experiment with their
properties. The gardens I have worked in are very dear to my heart and are still not
done. As you may know, garden development is a life time project. It can
always be
improved upon.

I desire to explore community gardening here in Lowell and to find interested people
to join me in this effort. Gardening …is not only a means of beautification, but also a
community-building tool. I really feel there are so many people out there just looking
for an opportunity like this to express themselves and have a little piece of earth. The
time is now when we as a community need to think and start initiatives that support
the environment. Much more needs to happen, and it needs to start now.

I'm thankful to all of the folks who have taken the time to listen to my ideas and who
have mentored me and most of all who have said “Yes you can”.

I have for the longest time had a keen
interest in community building and
just one day, out of the blue, thought it
could happen in a big way through
gardening. People thought my ideas,
in the beginning were “out there”. I
like to think of these ideas as creative
and forward thinking. Through time
and lots and lots of conversations the
project started to grow. No pun
intended. My focus is on educational
gardening projects that encourage
collaboration and creativity, involving
