Community Gardens Greenhouse - Lowell, MA
Mary J. Bacigalupo Victorian Garden
In 2004, the legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts voted to set
aside this land as part of the
Lowell National Historic Park.  The garden is
located in the heart of downtown Lowell and has been described as an
"urban hideaway".  Dedicated to Mary J. Bacigalupo, one of Lowell's
well-known civic and educational leaders, the garden contains plantings
specific to the Victorian era.  Local artists display their works, as do budding
artists from the
Lowell Community Charter Public School.

In 2007, the garden was replanted to bring the design and plantings back to
the original design of 30 years ago.  Local neighborhood residents,
members and friends of the Bacigalupo family, and Community Gardens
Greenhouse volunteers worked on the restoration from Spring through Fall.
