cram what I can into the earth, then supplement with containers. My yard is small; the

The first garden that I really remember was a border
garden with plantings of tall pink phlox,
lily-of-the-valley, and the common daylily. I'm sure
there were other flowers in the garden, but I distinctly
remember those particular flowers. I was 5.

garden. My dad taught me how to identify and plant
flowers and vegetables, as well as weed. I

and many years later we still do, except that the
salad has risen in status from side dish to main
course (at least in my home).
Today, I grow raspberries, strawberries, vegetables,

years, I kept studying and experimenting with
plants. Three years ago, I had the opportunity to
work at Covered Bridge Perennials. I jumped at the
chance and discovered new opportunities.
In June 2006, I met Janice Pokorski. We started
talking and found we had similar interests. She
mentioned that she had a greenhouse and was
trying to start a community garden with long term
plans to create a botanical garden. I signed on with
no hesitation.
Today, I blend horticulture and technology and look
forward to developing the
